Installing on second PC means you already have all the maps installed on first PC and you would like to transfer them to your second one.

IMPORTANT!
Before you start it is best to check for updates and update (of course when updates are available) Quo v2 application on first PC. Use menu Help > Check for Updates or check topic on this forum Updates Tracking. It is important that you have all the latest files on a first PC before you transfer them to second PC.

Step 1. Run Windows Explorer (or double click My Computer icon on your desktop or in Windows Start menu).

Step 2. Browse to Quo v2 installation folder, default is C:\Program Files\Mapyx\Quo v2\.
NOTE: If you installed Quo v2 on a different location (for example C:\Quo2\ then open this folder instead of default).

Step 3. Copy maps and data folders to DVD, USB flash drive or any similar media.

Step 4. Install Quo on your second PC.
NOTE: It's always best to download the latest Quo setup from our website.

Step 5. Copy maps and data folders from your DVD, USB flash drive or any similar media to C:\Program Files\Mapyx\Quo v2\ on your second PC.
NOTE: Again - if you installed Quo v2 on a different location (for example C:\Quo2\ then copy maps and data to this folder instead of default).

Step 6. Activate maps.

Exclamation IMPORTANT NOTE for users running Quo v2 2.1.5 or above

New users:
Quo v2 2.1.5 creates maps and data folders under My Documents\Quo2\.
So installing Quo v2 on a second PC means that after program installation (quo2_setup.exe) you have to copy maps and data folders from My Documents\Quo2\ on a first PC to My Documents\Quo2\ folder on a second PC.

Existing users:
After normal update to 2.1.5 maps and data folders remains under C:\Program Files\Mapyx\Quo2\ or on custom location (no changes). So in this case installing maps and data on a second PC means that you have to copy maps and data folders from C:\Program Files\Mapyx\Quo v2\ on a first PC to My Documents\Quo2 folder on a second PC.

The best way to check where your maps and data folders are - is to run Quo v2 and go to menu Edit > Preferences, tab Folders.

Maybe it looks like a mess - but it is NOT AT ALL!
We just changed default maps and data locations because we feel that maps and data should be under user's documents folder not under Program Files. We should do this in the first place, but there was not time. So we decided to do it now! We also separated maps and data from the application. With basic setup (quo2_setup.exe) you only install the application without any maps and data. This means reinstalling (updating) the application over and over will not affect your maps and data at all.
This also means that now you can decide which free (and demo) maps and data would you like to install - simply use Quo v2 Welcome Screen (menu Help > Welcome Screen). Currently you can choose for maps and data of Great Britain, Ireland and Slovenia. More countries will come soon.

And as always - if you have any questions, problems about this send us an email, we will fix you in no time. Wink

Regards,
Mapyx Team
