Print view area works if that's all you want, but print to fit would mean you could set the print area and whatever paper size you want printed it just prints to size. Basically, I suppose I just find the print option in Quo not that user friendly as others seem to find too.

Metcas,
yes, I have now noted that Quo have expanded the import options. On the tiles, yes my loaded tiles that I have bought. How do you knnow what tile covers which area without having to load them indivdually to have a look and work out if it is the one you want. All you have to go on is a tile number which only has relevance when you are buying tiles. |

If you have a small scale map loaded eg the osm Great Britain (free download) then in Quo Explorer in the Loaded Maps tab untick all maps except OSM and the map set you want eg OS Explorer 1:25000 and click the 'Draw Map Tiles' icon on the tool bar.
The tiles will then be shown in red. To identify a particular tile click the tile number in Quo explorer and it will ce centred on the map with a cross hair. Now if you wish to buy tiles go to the tile shop with the OSM map zoomed out and you will see the available tiles superimposed. |

As someone who has done ML training at GL, for the navigation/exped element of the training it is imperative that your map is to a recognised scale (e.g. 1:25k or 1:50k) as being able to measure distance on the map using the Romer scale on your compass plays a big part. If you simply print off an area based on the 4 corner coordinates they give, you are going to end up with an obscure scale which will be difficult/impossible to work with, and believe me during a night time nav exercise in the clag, wind and rain, that would be no fun! Also, it's not impossible that you might be taken to areas outwith these coords (as we were). Much as I'm a huge fan of digital mapping, my advice is don't go to GL without OS Landranger Sheet 36 (Grantown & Aviemore) AND Explorer Sheet 403 (Cairn Gorm & Aviemore). |

Hi one easy way of doing this is to create a waypoint set with points bounding your area of interest then print only that selected set, note ensure bounding box in on in the print options.
If you check the layer or set off in Quo explorer the points wont display on the printed map but the points are used to calculate the area to print ![]() |
