Grega & Team
Having spent a few hours printing off maps for my imminent trip to Devon, I have a few suggestions about how Quo’s print process can be made more flexible and user-friendly: - In the ‘Print’ window, allow Quo to “remember” the last set of changes made to the print params until they’re changed again – it’s very irritating having to remember to check the params every time you print, especially when the settings are not the default ones for the printer. - Allow multiple selections (Ctrl+Click / Shift+Click) to be made on the second ‘Print’ window to allow them to be deleted or moved as a group (rather than just a single page or all pages). - Allow a “snap" function for the alignment of page frames to ensure that no gaps are printed between pages. This function needs to be selectable on/off to allow for page overlap when required. Would also be useful to allow page frames to be moved with arrow keys rather than drag & drop – this will allow more precision particularly when ‘snap’ function is on. - Allow selected / edited set of page frames to be saved to a file – this will allow the set to be re-printed / edited at a later date if the original set gets lost / torn etc. Also useful if you’ve adjusted all the pages to exactly the correct positions, and only then remembered that you haven’t set the correct printer params and have to redo everything !! - ‘Undo’ on an accidental move of a frame or set of frames would be useful. - If zoomed in on Preview window, allow pages to click-dragged around, rather than just by sliders. “That’s all Folks !!” |

I would like to see the route or track as transparent colour when printed, like a highlighter pen. Thats what I do on a paper map as it doesn’t obscure any map detail. When printed the blue line of the route seems very thick and obscures map detail. Other than that I love it, just print the route tape it together into one big sheet and off you go. Allan

You can adjust route transparency:
- select route in project - scroll down route properties (bottom section of Explorer window) to 18. Line Transparency - change the value (from 0 to 255, 0 - full color, 255 - full transparency) Regards, Grega |

I was searching the forum to find exactly this transparency function, but I simply can't locate it in Quo. Just installed the 2.1.7 but after selecting 'Route' there's nothing in the bottom section of the Explorer window below the list of waypoints. How do I do it? I'm in full agreement with TornCorner's recommendations for improving printing. Martin

Ensure that you have the Properties section turned on in Quo Explorer. In the tool bar you have a number of Blue icons that control the various sections.
In the properties section for a route you will find 18. Line Transparency. here is an example |

Thanks - after a bit of experimentation I found an OK combination. Took me a moment to realise I could increase the transparency above 100. I'm also pleased to find I can increase the line width. I prefer a wider, fainter line. Please could you make all the settings sticky - I'm just about getting used to having to change from portrait to landscape via the printer driver every time I print a map, but I still occassionally forget... Would also like to see more of the page used in 'Print view'. I can remove some of those huge margins by changing 'Scale' in the print driver, but this doesn't affect the top and left margins. Martin

Hi,
settings are "sticky". If you choose Landscape Quo remembers it. If it does not in your case then this could be an error at your side. Post log file data (menu Help > View Log File) and i will check if there is any error while Quo is saving settings. Print Preview: don't understand. Print preview shows preview of the pages. There are no additional margins - there is no difference between preview and printed map (page). Regards, Grega |

A print to fit option like you have in MS Excel.
Improving the way in which other data imports into Quo e.g Geocaching GPX files
Adding in the functionality to import MMO files
A way in which you can identify the tiles yopoui want to load in Quo by linking them to the UK map.

Hi Kit.williams
There is a Print View Area which will print what you have on the screen to the full width of the page, so you need to ensure you print Landscape and then you get a map coveing a full sheet of A4 say! What issue do you have with Geocache gpx files? I simply go to import select the file type as gps navigate to the file and it appears as a new layer in my current project. If you look at the list of file types available in the drop down at the bottom of the import screen there is an option for mmo files. Can you explain your last question? Is this to load to Quo mobile or when you purchase tiles? |

One suggestion for printing, is to be able to specify the four corner coordinates for the area you want to print. I was looking at doing my summer mountain leader training at Glenmore lodge, on their equipment page they give four co-ordinates of the main area that they use for their courses and suggest printing off A4 maps for the area, which i decided to see if i could do. However I couldn't see away of doing this in Quo apart from manually finding each corner, drawing an area round them and then printing enclosed area.
As more outdoor course providers recognise theat people have mapping software and suggest printing of maps as well as taking OS sheets it would be good to have a quickier way of doing it-prehaps their is a way of doing this in QUO, but I've yet to find it. |
